Fortress of Solitude

Armed by pepper tree branches
Shielded by boulders and stones
Shaded by blanketing leaves
Bluebird sentries warn of foe

The flanks protected by treacherous climbs
Runic stone markings protect them with rhymes
Hawks patrol and kee an alarm
Their watchful eyes keep them from harm

Below their feet—soil and peat— softens a fall
Cool breezes sift their way through
As they read a book—play a game—search for dinosaur prints—throw a ball

This is what I built it to do
